- अब अगर कोई कर्मचारी 20 साल की नियमित नौकरी पूरी कर लेता है, तो उसे पूरी पेंशन का अधिकार मिलेगा। कर्मचारियों द्वारा पुरानी सीमा को कम करने की मांग लंबे समय से की जा रही थी, जिसमें अब बदलाव हुआ है। इस बदलाव से लाखों केंद्रीय कर्मचारियों को फायदा होगा। आइए आपको बताते हैं कि किन कर्मचारियों को इसका फायदा मिलेगा।
- यूपीएस चुनने वाले कर्मचारियों को पेंशन के साथ-साथ कुछ अन्य सुविधाएँ भी मिलेंगी। अगर कोई कर्मचारी नौकरी के दौरान विकलांग हो जाता है, तो उसे पेंशन का लाभ मिलेगा। वहीं, अगर सेवा के दौरान उसकी मृत्यु हो जाती है, तो उसके परिवार को एक सुरक्षित पेंशन मिलेगी।
- परिवार चाहे तो सीसीएस पेंशन नियम या यूपीएस नियम में से किसी एक का विकल्प चुन सकता है। यानी न केवल सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद, बल्कि नौकरी के दौरान किसी भी अप्रिय घटना की स्थिति में भी कर्मचारी और उसके परिवार को आर्थिक सुरक्षा मिलेगी।

- कर्मचारियों को एनपीएस से यूपीएस में स्विच करने की सुविधा दी जाएगी। यह विकल्प सेवानिवृत्ति से एक वर्ष पूर्व या वीआरएस से तीन माह पूर्व लिया जा सकता है।
- कर्मचारी और सरकार दोनों के अंशदान, पंजीकरण में देरी के लिए मुआवज़ा और सेवा के दौरान मृत्यु या विकलांगता की स्थिति में लाभ का प्रावधान किया गया है।
- सेवानिवृत्ति के विभिन्न कारणों जैसे अधिवर्षिता, समयपूर्व या स्वैच्छिक सेवानिवृत्ति, अक्षमता, त्यागपत्र या जबरन सेवानिवृत्ति के लिए उपलब्ध लाभों को भी स्पष्ट किया गया है।
